After a few years of freelancing (between diaper changes) I was hired by Albuquerque’s KUNM to serve as the station’s Conservation Producer: a grant-funded dream job combining hiking boots and recording equipment. When I wasn’t out hiking with llamas or searching for elusive mice, I could be found guest-hosting KUNM’s weekly call-in program or working on earthairwaves, a blog I created to publish all the snappy extras that couldn’t be crammed into KUNM’s local news broadcasts.
